Why did we ever switch from garnet helmets??

God, those things were sweet. I know some people don't care what the Gamecocks wear, but I think the garnet helmets were iconic.

Anyways, that's all I have to say about that.

Count me in as a fan of the garnet helmets as well.

The black ones that we wore in 2004 though?  UGH.  Glad those only lasted one year.

love those garnet helmets too..almost as much as the ones from the late '70's..the big block C decorated

I throw my hat in the ring for liking the garnet helmets as well. But to go back even further, I thought the white helmets w/ the gamecock and banner (no "C") were pretty sweet, also.
