South Carolina athletics director Ray Tanner said on Tuesday that a game against LSU at Williams-Brice Stadium is not certain to happen. A final decision, according to Tanner, should happen in the next 24 to 36 hours.
There are concerns about the highways and infrastructure, water at the stadium and the strain put on first responders.
"There are a lot of concerns and a lot of things to consider," Tanner said.
Tanner said that there have been discussions with "more than one city" if South Carolina has to move the game from Williams-Brice Stadium. Tanner didn't want to get into specifics, but he said playing at LSU is "not out of the realm of possibility."
"Our situation regarding football is ongoing," Tanner said. "We're not 100 percent sure we'll have a game here at Williams-Brice. It's not a definite. We'll continue to monitor the infrastructure that's necessary to have a football game."
Stay tuned to TheBigSpur.com for updates on the situation but as of right now, the game is still on for Saturday at noon at Williams-Brice Stadium.
