SEC roundup how the teams stack up after week 8 play
Oct. 23, 2022

As always every week of SEC play can be interesting and this weekend was no different. Teams will move up and teams will move down. big winners this weekend Alabama, LSU, and South Carolina. Tennessee had a week off, no they did play but it was Tennesee Martin. Tennesse still has a few teams on the schedule that can throw a monkey wrench in going undefeated like Georgia, Kentucky, and South Carolina. Will see how it all plays out. This is how they stack up after week 8.

LSU
South Carolina

SECOND TIER

No SEC road victories this weekend.

We scored the same amount points as#6 Bama did against #24 MSST. That may not matter to some, but we have to remember that Jimbo scored the #1 recruiting class in the offseason and TAMU was the pre-season #6 in the country at the beginning of this season.

We are so used to our teams being flat while others improve during the season, but we are bucking the trend of recent years and improving under Shane and his staff.

We couldn't beat the Vols or the Taters if we had to play them next week, but we might stand a pretty good chance if we continue to improve the next 3 games.

I am starting to feel an excitement about Gamecock football that I haven't felt since the 33-6 years.

We are currently ranked 3rd in the East behind UGA and UT. With the bottom 3 still to play. Mizzu, Fla, and vandy. All 3 of those games are winable. Then we have UT and Clemmy which will be tough. We love to end the season with a victory against the taters.

7-8 win season is within reach.

UK plays the Vols this weekend and then UGA on 11-19.

They will lose most certainly to UGA, but what if they were to upset the Vols? We would have to move up in the rankings if that happened and we beat Mizzou and Vandy.

Then maybe a little higher if we beat the Gators. Hopefully Shane will keep the team honest about reading its own press and we get solid wins over Mizzou and Vandy.

No more cupcakes left on our schedule and I assume that the Mizzou game will sell out pretty quickly this week, too.

The Gators play UGA this weekend and will most likely get stomped and go to 1-4 in the SEC.

Beating Mizzou on Saturday would put us solidly into 3rd place in the SEC East.

Maybe the Gators blow Stetson Bennet up and upend the Dawgs season, we beat Tenn and backdoor our way into the SEC title game, we potentially still play 2 top 5 teams and could win the SEC as the Dawgs have done us in years past, it is our time!

Who would be the 2nd SEC team to beat the Dawgs? We have two losses and they are still undefeated.

UT, Ken and the Gamecocks beat UT and we win the tiebreaker... with only one loss in the east...10-2 if we best clemson playing in the SEC for a shot at a playoff...
