9 killed in training accident

8 Marines and 1 Sailor are dead after a malfunction with their AAV in a training accident.

There is a bit of talk that they have found the remains about 400 feet down still inside the AAV.

Damn I hate to hear that.  RIP.

Considering the Marine Corps just disbanded the tankers because they did not fir the modern combat environment, one really has to question why we are practicing beach Landings in 40 year old crafts.
