2014 guard Marcus Stroman 6'1" 180lbs had a good visit to South Carolina Friday.
Stroman had a previous offer from Darrin Horn, but tonight, the new staff offered him, as well, after a solid team camp, recently. It was the first time Martin and company had seen Stroman play.
Stroman goes to school in Columbia (Keenan), so he would be staying home if he decided to commit. He would also be the first commit in either the 2014 or 2013 class.
"It’s been hard to gauge Marcus," Marcus' coach Shaland White said, "unless you ask him question after question after the fact - and I don't like doing that - he won't tell you much.
"He tells me that he liked the visit, though, and that he’d think about it."
White said that Stroman would "strongly" consider the Gamecocks. He also said that Clemson, Georgia Southern and Georgia were in on him, with Alabama showing some interest.
"This was the first time (the coaches) got to see him," White said. "They had heard a lot about him, and they were pleased with what they saw."
