Cornerback signee Jamarcus King (Eight Mile, Ala./Coffeyville JC) will not enroll early at South Carolina. He still plans to become a Gamecock and is expected to enroll this June. King has an academic matter to take care of before he will be able to enroll.
King, ranked as the No. 1 junior college cornerback in the country, signed with South Carolina over Auburn, Arkansas and others in the recruiting process. He registered 37 tackles with three interceptions and a team-high 10 pass breakups to earn first-team All-Jayhawk Conference and honorable mention All-America accolades in his sophomore season in 2015. He was also a second-team All-American his freshman year of 2014.
King, a four-star prospect, holds a 0.8981 rating in the 247Sports Composite.
