South Carolina bats stormed back to lead the Gamecocks to a 12-3 Game 2 win over Northwestern, and even the series at 1-1 with the deciding game coming tomorrow. Brett Kerry (2-0) was knocked around a little bit in his start, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits and 2 solo home-runs in 6.0 innings pitched, but Wes Clarke made sure none of it would matter, as he goes 3-4 with two home-runs and 7 RBIs himself to ensure Kerry and the Gamecock pitchers had all the offense they'd need. After singling in the 3-run 1st inning, Clarke would smack a 3-RBI homer in the 2nd inning, as the Yardcocks would score 8 runs in the first 2 innings to put the score 8-1.

Then with the score 8-3 in the bottom 6th, Clarke would step up to the plate with the bases loaded after Amicangelo doubled to lead off the inning, Campbell singled, and Eyster was hit by a pitch. Clarke would drive the very first offering by the Wildcats pitcher over the left field fence for the grand slam home-run, to put the game out of reach. Overall the Gamecocks had 13 hits on the day. George Callil would also drive in 3 on a forced RBI HBP with bases loaded, and a 2-RBI single, and Jeff Heinrich had a 2 RBI single in the 1st inning.

The Gamecocks (5-1) open Game 3 tomorrow at 1:30 PM against the Wildcats (2-3) with the series on the line.......
