Gamecocks extends first QB offer under Mike Bobo era to prolific passer out of Texas

January 28, 2020

Gamecocks have made its first publicly known offer to a quarterback with Mike Bobo at the helm of the offense.

Southlake Carroll (Texas) passer Quinn Ewers tweeted out news of the offer. Ewers is not yet ranked by recruiting services, but the 2022 player’s offers include Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M.

Last season, Ewers threw for 4,003 yards, 45 touchdowns and three interceptions in 14 games. He also ran for 568 yards at 6.8 yards per carry and scored nine times.

Gamecocks also in the hunt for 2022 QB Gunner Stockton out of Georgia.

Historically, the Gamecocks haven’t been shy about offering QBs from the Lone Star State. They currently have an offer out to 2021 passer Garrett Nussmeier, son of former Alabama, Michigan and Florida OC Doug Nussmeier. The younger Nussmeier camped at South Carolina last year.
