Gamecock men’s basketball team moved up a couple of spots in the NET Rankings

Recommended Posts

Gamecock men’s basketball team moved up a couple of spots in the NET Rankings on Sunday and now sit at No. 89 nationally. The Gamecocks (11-8, 3-3) need to continue to climb in the rankings, and have some opportunities upcoming in Southeastern Conference play. Question is how many  more wins will be enough to land in the NCAA's?

I said it elsewhere in the forum, but I'll reiterate here:  We've got 12 more conference games left.  We have 3 wins and 3 losses.  All of our losses in conference play are against teams with VERY high NET rankings.  I, personally, think we can withstand as many as 6 total conference losses before our NCAA hopes are flushed for 2020.  Steal one from Tennessee, at least one from Miss. St, and a win vs. Arky/Alabama, and I think we're in the drivers seat. As long as we take care of business and get 9 more W's... I, personally, believe we get the NCAA invite.  Our wins vs. UVA, KY, and even Clemson help our case.  It's the next big win that helps us more than anything, as long as we get no more than 3 more losses (and stay away from a loss to Vandy, Missouri or Ole Miss).
