The numbers game Gamecocks lost to injury this year?

Nov. 06, 2019

Carolina will head into the Appalachian State game this weekend with question marks around top rusher Tavien Feaster and his injured groin. But the good news here is that the Gamecocks are getting six players back after they missed the Vanderbilt game or more For the second consecutive season, it has been that kind of year on the injury front. I wonder if there's a comparison of number of injuries by team. I know last year, many of us were wondering why Muschamp's teams seem to get obliterated by the injury bug, but I wonder if it's a true anomaly or within the normal range.

Doesn't seem it was near this bad with the previous set of coaches....at least consistent from year to year.

I agree depth is part of the issue.  Teams with better depth don't have the noticeable drop off in talent.  Also, teams with easier schedules get to rest players in games.  I am not knocking the success of clemson, but look how many starters on their team don't play the end of the 3rd or much of the 4th?  If your competition is better, you can't sit players like that.  That effectively gives teams entire games of rest over the course of the season where the starters don't play.

I am not sure if our injuries are more than others or not though.
