PJ Hall recaps Saturday visit to USC #Gamecocks

March 10, 2019, | SportsTalk Radio Network

6-9 PJ Hall of Dorman played the last game of his junior season March 1st at the Colonial Life Arena helping lead the Cavaliers to a third straight state championship.  Saturday he was back at the scene of the triumph on an unofficial visit for USC’s Senior Day win pj-hall6.png?w=400&h=306over Georgia. Hall was joined by 2020 teammate PG Myles Tate.  6-5 Dillon Jones of Keenan and 6-5 Quentin Hodge of of Lakewood, also in the 2020 class, also were in for visits.

“We got there about 12:00 and  hung out with (assistant coach) Bruce (Shingler) a little bit,” Hall said. “We watched the game and then hung out a little bit after the game and we kind of had to get out of there.”

The reason they had to get out of there was to get to an all-star game in Columbia that tipped at 4:30.  Because of that, Hall said he didn’t get much time with head coach Frank Martin.  But that didn’t affect the take-away from this visit.

“Not necessarily move the needle because my standing with them is pretty high and I like them a lot” he said. “If it would have moved the needle it would have put them pretty high on my list. I like them a lot.”

Hall said he doesn’t have any more visits planned right now though he’s thinking of taking an unofficial visit to Marquette.

“Coming up is AAU season and I’ll probably start planning my officials,” Hall said “I’m aiming (to decide) before my senior season but if something happens where I wasn’t sure I could push back a little bit.”

Hall said at this point four of his official visits probably will be USC, Clemson, Tennessee and Florida.  He said the Tigers also remain heavily involved.

“I hear from them all the time,” he said.

This season Hall averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game.  He said at his current size he considers himself a four-man primarily because of his defensive skills for that position.  He said his doctor has told him he still has a couple of more inches to grow.
