We seemed to have a large number of players miss time due to injuries. I was just wondering, is that something where our strength and conditioning guys dropped the ball? Were our players just not in good enough shape to compete every week? Or was it just bad luck that the injuries seemed so prevalent?

I mean it sure appeared that they spent a lot of time doing different calisthenics and working out in the weight room. It just seemed like they were not prepared enough or something when they had so many getting hurt.
Maybe I am totally off base here. I just hope the guys can stay healthy this season. What do you guys think?

I've been asking that same question and this year was no exception. It seems like it's been going on for years.

Ask yourself how often do you hear about numerous key injuries at tater tech for example?

I am not a Dr or a Sports Phys Ed specialist, so my opinion means nothing. But back when I competed, I do remember things we did during training that I really did not see any need for. I mean things you just got sick of doing. We were always told it would help to prevent injuries, so we did it and we built a lot of muscles that seemed to not really have much use. I really do not remember us having many injuries in HS or my one year in college ball.
I am sure most of the competition is way tougher now than it was in the early 80's, but I felt like we played our hearts out without people getting hurt too often. Yes, we would get sore and bruised, but there were no major things we did not get over in a day or two. Back then a little ice did wonders.
Like you said, why do we not see all these injuries at other schools. They have one or two, not 5 or 6 at a time.
