GCF Staff final thoughts, prediction vs. South Carolina St.
Sept. 29, 2022
Gamecocks are following up its win on Saturday against Charlotte with a midweek game against S.C. State. The game was moved due to Hurricane Ian possible impacts on South Carolina this weekend. The change now gives the Gamecocks' a few extra days before facing Kentucky in Lexington on Oct. 8.

An emotional letdown game for us after the heroic Charlotte win.
28-17 SC State
Don't let down your guard against Coach Buddy.
Spur's Addiction
More of the same from last week.
Cocks - 45
Dawgs - 13

Hurricane Ian is doing a Reverse Sherman (Water from South going North instead of ...you know..Fire going North to South).

Final Prediction There’s little reason to suspect that S.C. State won’t roll through the MEAC again on its way to another FCS playoff appearance, and the Bulldogs’ result against South Carolina isn’t terribly relevant to their season goals. South Carolina will make the game easy. Rattler lights it up tonight at Willie B, finally shows off why last year he was the preseason Heisman choice. Cocks 63 Bulldogs 17 the Gamecocks get ready to turn their attention towards Lexington to square off with number 9 Kentucky next Saturday.
Pick here: Gamecocks 63 Bulldogs 17

Like Charlotte, South Carolina plays another smaller opponent at home in South Carolina State (1-2) who is struggling to win games and stop opponents. The Bulldogs are allowing 255 rushing yds and 470 total yds per game. Should be another chance for Marshawn Lloyd and the RB depth to put up strong numbers. The game being moved up to Thursday due to Hurricane/Tropical Depression Ian probably doesn't hurt SC State too much, as they played on Friday last week. The Gamecocks came out relatively injury-free from Charlotte last week, so that helps us for such a shortened game week. Should be another muscle-flexing game for the Gamecocks.
