As you saw in the article on Scout, South Carolina currently checks in at No. 2 on Kelsey Griffin's list behind in-state UGA. Griffin doesn't have any timetable for a commitment, but says that he could commit at any time after taking a few more visits. At this point it appears he'll visit both USC and UGA one more time. The UGA visit is before the USC one, so obviously he could commit there before the USC visit takes place. If USC can get him back on campus again, then I do think they still have a shot.
Griffin has been a hard one to read, but I can tell you that he's a major priority, and both his recruiter G.A. Mangus and defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward are doing everything they can to reel him in.
It's important to remember that even though USC's class is quickly filling up, it's still only the beginning of July. If things don't work out with Griffin, then there's still plenty of time to find a DT out there. Plus, there's always that period before signing day when there are coaching changes elsewhere that lead to decommitments and new prospects looking around.
