17 year old Dachshund

Well, my girl is almost 100% back to normal. Her wound is almost completely healed, and she quit licking it, so I don't have to put the cone on her anymore. She is eating great and was even trying to get playful with one of my other dogs.
Being 17 years old, she spends most of her day under a blanket on her bed, but it is just exciting to see her come out and roll around next to the other dog like she wants to fight.
I have never had a dog live this long before. Last week, I really thought it might be time, but she sure has come back strong.
Glad I got a really good vet that didn't just want to put her down.

Really happy for you and your dog, AikenGameFan. Hopefully more good years of quality life for your friend.
