WATCH: Paul Jackson Introductory News Conference With Notes 01/09/2020, | GCF Staff Report Jackson will have an entire new strength and conditioning staff as all four Gamecocks assistants under former strength coach Jeff Dillman have also left the program. New coaches are Former Ole Miss staff members Anthony Henderson and Julian Whitehead are now here in Columbia. Also Former Texas State football head of strength and conditioning Scott Salwasser will also join the Gamecocks. There is one more assistant strength coach staff spot remaining to be filled, and Jackson said that the hire is nearly done, and hopes to have his final coach in place before the team reports back on Monday. There history: Anthony Henderson just finished his first season with the Ole Miss program as a full-time assistant. He is a former defensive back at Florida Atlantic University. Julian Whitehead, a former defensive back for the Rebels, joined his alma mater’s staff for the 2016 football season after stops at Middle Tennessee State and Kent State. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW) and a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Scott Salwasser, who spent one year leading the TSU program. Previously, he spent three years at Texas Tech and three years prior to that at California. Salwasser played at California and earned a master’s degree in Kinesiology at CSU-Sacramento. One spot still remains on Jackson’s staff, but he’s in a good spot to hit the ground running on Monday when the players return. Video below:

While last season may not have lived up to the hype for many South Carolina fans, Will Muschamp’s teams often seem to perform better without expectations. Entering the 2019 season, that will certainly be the situation for the Gamecocks, which could just signal disaster for those scheduled to line up against South Carolina in the fall. Judging by the latest hype video produced by the school, the team has returned to the field with a chip on its shoulder and eager to do some hitting. As Muschamp asks in the video, “talk with your pads” out on the field. Safe to say they did just that here:
