  1. I would agree with canada
  2. very nice...so this is probably a good 150 miles south of there...there used to be a good golf course in Fincastle which I believe is in Boutetourt County
  3. Next time I am out riding that way I will try to get your some pictures...the old cabin still stands to this day and the Fold has definitely improved...when I was young it was more or less a large barn with a stage and a dirt floor with old school bus bench seats lol...now it has stadium type seating and air conditioning and indoor plumbing...all the little roads around it are named for either songs from the Carter Family or from Johnny Cash...it is kind of in the middle of nowhere but as the crow flies probably about 10-12 miles straight north or Bristol, VA. The land back in there is amazing as the north fork of the Holston River created all this bottom land that was cheap back in the day and yielded small but decent farms As an aside they are working on a rails to trails area back in there that is pretty amazing as well and may one day hook up to the Virginia Creeper Trail
  4. while watching do they talk about the Carter Family Fold? It is the home of Maybelle and June Carter and is in Mace's Springs, VA (which is why I didn't answer based on rural East TN). I ride by bike through there all the time and they still do bluegrass every Saturday night...there is a kid on The Voice named Carson Peters (if he has not been cut) who performed there all the time as a child...it is a really cool place and the family cemetary down the street has a great deal of some of the original country music people
  5. there is a difference in losing and not even being competitive...I thought 5 wins was the ceiling but we are getting the doors blown off of us at every turn...hell we got lucky to be ECU and Vandy....that being said Huepel seems to have turned around a mediocre UT team to at least be able to put some points on the board whereas we thrive in garbage time...I hope that you guys are correct about recruiting but I guess time will tell
  6. Correct! Well Done Sir!
  7. what children's toy was originally made to clean wallpaper?
  8. I am far from a music afficianado...they could have put out big time records and I may have not heard of them...I learn so much form these trivia questions as it leads me to research things I know little about
  9. I looked it up and I had never heard of this group...hell I thought Blind Faith was considered a supergroup
  10. yeah he had multiple myeloma...not sure the impact it may have had but any blood cancer or cancers of the immune system would certainly give me pause for concern...he was a great man
  11. The biggest problem with attending games is that they last entirely too long...some going well over 4 hours...personally I will watch it on my tv,ipad, phone etc and go on with my day then go and watch a mediocre (by recent standards) product and spend what amounts to an entire day
  12. did you see waht happened to Southwest (that is what I was referring to) as well as the change in ticketing policy for american airlines? Basically if they don't have enough staff for a flight (due to not be vaccinated etc) they will cancel the flight and issue a refund and leave you to fend for yourself as you try to rebook flights...would suck to get to Charlotte (or any hub) and then get stuck
  13. flying is about to get really interesting
  14. Fantastic...that is what I have heard about my neck of the woods as well...our area is still very much so undervaxxed so our infections have been quite high
  15. cases still coming in like the tide?
  16. 80% isn't going to happen...the best you may get is 80% immunity rate (which is really what should be focused on IMO)
  17. I just hope that when delta burns out we don't have another variant waiting in the wings
  18. hopefully we will see this number start to ebb (I hope at least)
  19. Nice! This kind of thing is what it will take to get us out of Pandemic in my mind...people wone vaccinate for prevention can now access oral antivirals...hopefully if this proves efficacious then it will open up hospitals
  20. we were on the struggle bus and needed help...glad to see you back
  21. wow! That was an amazing summer of Music! I had no clue they all ran together like that...did you see the show at Willy B?
  22. ok...I was on the peloton last night and they played Enter Sandman and the dude said it came out in 1991 so I will guess Metallica (self named album) and if that is correct (or not) what about a GNR album because I think they toured together? Regardless if correct, that would have been and awesome show
