Gamecocks board approves new contracts; Beamer reportedly hires DL coach

The USC Board of Trustees Friday morning approved contracts for new offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield, defensive coordinator Clayton White, secondary coach Torian Gray and strength and conditioning coach Luke Day. Also, according to GamecockCentral, Shane Beamer has hired Cheraw native Jimmy Lindsey to be hs new defensive line coach.
Lindsey spent last season coaching defensive ends at Illinois. Before that, he worked with White at Western Kentucky.
White received a three year contract that will pay hiim 900-thousand dollars per season plus incentives. Satterfield was given a two year deal at 900-thousand per season plus incentives. Gray has a three year contract that will start at $350-thousand dollars and top off at $500-thousand dollars in year three. And Day received a two year contract at 400-thousand dollars per season.
Also, the board approved salary increases for RB coach Des Kitchings and DE coach Mike Peterson from 300-thousand dollars per season to $420-thousand dollars per season.
Lindsey is a UT-Chattanooga graduate. Among his coaching stops was a four year stiint at Furman. He spent three seasons at Western Kentucky coaching the defensive line in 2017 and defensive ends in 2018-19. He also served as recruiting coordinator. Lindsey’s hiring leaves just the offensive line coaching job for Beamer to fill out his staff.
